What new wines/features will be introduced during this fall’s wine stroll?

We always introduce a new lineup for each stroll and try to focus on wines that would be appropriate for the season. I’ve also seen more of an interest in the “Petillant Naturel” category this year so you will find a couple of those on the routes. This is a sparkling wine that is bottled around 2/3 of the way through fermentation. The juice finishes the process in a capped vessel, and as the CO2 is not offered the luxury of escaping, it makes bubbles. This also means the wine does not go through a fining or filtration process, so you will notice it to be quite cloudy and a little funky, or sometimes very funky.

What is it about the season of fall that can heighten a wine tasting experience?

Wine will always be enhanced by aromatic surroundings. Just as a crisp, floral white is arguably the perfect match for a late Spring picnic, the Fall table brings an array of intense savory and sweet spice components that compliment a variety of fleshy whites and light to medium weight, fruity reds.

Are there any new/seasonal/holiday wines being offered this fall for the wine stroll? Which wines are you excited about the public experiencing and tasting?

Each Lincoln Square/Ravenswood Wine stroll is a new chance to experience new businesses by picking one of multiple routes with new and different wines. Everything from new vintages, new blends, to new wineries. We have some great red blends and winter whites showcased this stroll!

I covered and reviewed the spring wine stroll earlier this year. How do you feel the fall wine stroll will be a completely different experience from the spring?

Our wine line-up for Fall 2019 is a more elegant group.  Lovely for holiday pairings and parties to nights-in. It would be difficult to not find something you love and want to share.
