Coachella 2017 Recap-The IT List of A Magical Weekend in the Desert

As everyone headed out to the desert for weekend one of Coachella, a 3-day music and arts festival held in Indio, CA. While many headed to the desert for top performers others headed out to dance in the sun – in style. The first weekend of Coachella is easily deemed as the place to come together while bringing your A-game in terms of fashion and status.

Take a look below and see the highlights from a few of our top parties over the weekend as well as some must pit-stops to get Coachella-Ready!

Base Coat:

As we hit the road to Coachella for a memorable 3-day weekend our first pit-stop – Base Coat! Known as LA’s first non-toxic nail salon in Downtown LA, Base Coat is a must! With celeb favorites such as Gwen Stefani and Amal Clooney it’s no wonder why you should make this a stop as you head out to the desert! For trends such as high color neons or fun geometrical prints Base Coat in LA can do it all!

PacSun Festival Pre Party:

Anyone knows that floral crowns, braid bars, and glitter is a MUST at Coachella. So why not have it all? Joico came in full effect as a nice addition to any style, that will actually stay put, while you dance the night away in the desert. Joico brought it’s new instatint shades (Hot Pink, Ruby Red, Light Purple, Periwinkle and Titanium) for attendees at the PacSun Festival Pre-Party. The colors deliver a bright bold hue that will hold up to 3 days (long enough for Coachella- duh) and will wash out in 1 shampoo! It’s temporary, no commitment yet fun – just like your festival hook-ups.

FunBoy x Smashbox:

The premiere poolside floaty company FunBoy teamed up with Smashbox to hold a unique care-free party at Coachella! Celebs such as: Katy Perry, Alessandra Ambrosio, and Shay Mitchell stopped by for the ‘floato-opps’ and touch ups by Smashbox during week one! Attendees were able to bask in the sun and have some fun on the some of their top floaty’s such as the FUNBOY’s Seahorse and Festival Flamingo.

Interscope Records Coachella House BBQ with Electric Sky Wine:

 

Interscope Records held a chicBBQ over Coachella weekend. Guests could sneak in, relax, and take a break from all the craze while munching on bites by Adam Perry Lang and wine by Electric Sky Wine. Celebs such as: Lana del Rey, Jared Leto, Tyga with Brooklyn Beckham, Benny Blanco, Bahari, Jay Brown, Jarryd James, 6lack, D.R.A.M., Kamaiyah all made their way to the Interscope Records oasis. Interscope Records recently announced its partnership on Electric Sky Wine — a brand new wine aimed at the music-loving, festival-going consumer. The wine comes in four single-serve portions, each individually sealed and delivered in shatter-proof, recyclable plastic, which is perfect for festivals!

 

 

Pretty Little Things x Paper Magazine:

 

PrettyLittleThing teamed up with Paper Magazine to throw an exclusive Coachella poolside party. The invite only event which took place on a private estate in Palm Springs provided the ultimate desert backdrop alluring the definitive it-crowd into the Pretty Little Playground. One thing to note about Pretty Little Things is that they know EXACTLY how to throw one hell of a party. Although the line is fairly new, out in the US for a year, there isn’t a shortage of A-list attendees that have quickly become fans of the brand. Kylie Jenner, Jordyn Woods, Stassie Karanikolaou, Amanda Steele, Lottie Moss, Christina Milian, Shaun Ross, and Sereyah were amongst some of the celebs in attendance.

The party was set in the desert with retro-inspired outdoor décor, chill out areas with lifesize games of JENGA and Connect 4, a PrettyLittleThing gifting lounge, and cotton candy and ice cream stations. Guests were also treated by the iconic Gypsy Shrine who made sure all attendees were festival ready with face & body jewels and hair glitter. Guests sipped cocktails while basking in the sun and dancing to the beats of DJ’s Jessie Andrews, No Vacancy Inn, DJ Casanova, and Brittany Skye before French Montana took the stage.

The Lucky Lounge Presents: Desert Jam:

 

The Lucky Lounge combined live entertainment and cocktails with poolside entertainment – does it get any better? VIP’s gathered at the Ingleside Inn for a day of fun in the sun and relaxation.

Guests enjoyed beverages by CORE Water, High Brew Coffee, Heineken and Deep Eddy Vodka while getting primed and pampered with quick massages and manicures by HomeAway. Lucky, the iconic denim brand, had their line on display and select VIPs were able to select a few of their favorite items.

Ashlee Simpson-Ross and Evan Ross took a break from their newborn baby to have some fun and stock up on goodies. Although I’m sure it was a much needed break, the new parents were overheard speaking how they couldn’t wait to get back to their little ones.

Being a weekend filled with music, it’s only right to have some live music at the event. Noah Cyrus took the stage later in the day to perform a few of her hit singles, “Make Me Cry” and “Stay Together”.  Both Tish and Brandi Cyrus were overheard gushing about how proud they were of Noah and how beautiful of a journey it’s  been for them specifically and for their entire family. Trish was also overheard saying that she couldn’t wait to see what’s next in store for Noah.

Blind Dragon: Desert Pop Up Experience:

 

Last Friday, April 14th, 2017, The h.wood Group presented their ‘Blind Dragon Pop Up Desert Experience’, to help kick off Coachella Weekend 1, with a special performance by Post Malone and an exclusive attendance that included trending influencers and VIPs, at a private estate in Thermal, CA.

Katy Perry’s Footwear Easter Sunday Recovery Brunch:

Living her fullest ‘Teenage Dream,’ Katy Perry held the chic-est brunch on Easter Sunday during weekend one at Coachella. The invite-only fete drew quite the intimate crowd. Adam Lambert, Jean Watts, as well as her right hand man, Johnny Wujeck were all in attendance to support and catch up while dancing to sounds by Mia Morretti.

The colorful daytime event featured an exclusive pop-up debuting her Katy Perry Footwear collection, where guests re-fueled with vitamin elixirs, oxygen bars and reflexology massages, including a festive Easter egg hunt by Cover Girl, and beats spun by Mia Moretti, Balthazar Getty & Bobby French, at a private estate in Thermal, CA.

NaNA Judy Coachella Takeover:

nANA jUDY hosted the most celebrated after party of Coachella weekend 1. Over the span of the weekend the NANA Judy house made its mark as a destination for party goers and insiders. With both day and night parties it’s no wonder why this was on everyone’s radar!

P Diddy and Tyga jumped on stage with the hip hop group Migos, and stole the show playing a close up and personal performance inside the NANA JUDY estates airplane hanger. NANA JUDY turned this airport hanger into a complete mise-en-scènee equipped for a celeb bustling soiree at full capacity. Tyga and Post Malone also played while Rhianna supported Nana Judy in full glow, dancing at the party in a head to toe Gucci sequence piece that cost $8,480.

Among other famous guests, obviously the man himself P Diddy, Post Malone, G Eazy, French Montana, Wale, Thomas Jack, Russel Simmons and presented by Chroncierge. This was the party of the weekend said nANA jUDY brand founder Glenn Coleman.

The NANA JUDY brand is having big success in the US found in premium stores Bloomingdales, Urban Outfitters, American Rag and Lord & Taylor.
