Public House at Luxor – No Better Combination of Food and Football in all of Las Vegas

Spread the love

When it comes to football, it doesn’t matter whether it is an early Saturday to watch your school take the field or any part of Sunday to take in some NFL action, Las Vegas is the best place to catch your team in action other than being in your home stadium. Vegas still might be the better option. When it comes to big screens and big, decadent over-the-top plates, no one does the game day experience quite like the Public House inside Luxor Las Vegas.

Public House makes it as easy as grabbing a seat at the bar and sitting down. From there tilt your head slightly up and you are greeted with a giant hi-def screen that would make most sports books envious. Turn to your right, you have four games at once and not a single one will leave you squinting as the screens are all large and crystal clear. The games will catch you eye no matter where you are at in the restaurant and with so many televisions your own problem is trying to figure out how not to get dizzy from watching so much football.

“Big Boy”

A beautiful restaurant, amazing service and probably a television for every game that is on is only the beginning. The true fun of the Public House begins with the menu and the type of food that they invented Instagram for. With that being said, you have to start with the aptly named “Big Boy”. How about a burger so big it needs own pallet of wood.

The Public Option Nachos

The Buffalo Shrimp are different than your typical breaded dish as Public House uses a light tempura batter that allows these giant shrimp to shine and then they are smothered in a somewhat hot sauce that is just tame enough to allow most people to enjoy them. Dip then in the rich and creamy blue cheese, pair it with a Joseph James Hefeweizen and you will be a happy football fan. The Public House has taken a lot of fun and casual food and really elevated each dish with more flavor than you would expect. You can’t go wrong with the New York Pastrami, the stout beer battered fish & chips and of course there are plenty of flavor chicken wings for everyone in your group.

Buffalo Shrimp

It is difficult to say something is the best, so we won’t say that they are the best, but “The Public Option” nachos are in the conversation. Freshly made kettle chips are the best way to go although you could go with the sidewinder fries, but the kettle chips are so fresh and crisp and will hold up under all the ingredients better than the fries. On top of the kettle chips you are going to find piles of tender and flavorful beer braised short rib along with jalepenos, pico de gallo and the smoked gouda sauce. Gouda is so rich, it matches the flavor of the short rib beautifully and turning into a thick yet nacho worthy sauce really sets this apart from other nachos. If you are having one of the many Public House beers, the Giant Bavarian  pretzel that comes along with the smoked gouda sauce and a whole grain mustard, is a must to pair with your beer.

If you have a sweet tooth, the milk shakes go from kid friendly to very adult and they are all amazing. The Bomb Pop combines the flavors of vanilla and cotton candy and is finished off with incredible homemade red liquorice. The adult versions features the “Chunky Monkey”, all the goodness of vanilla, chocolate, banana and it is all brought together with some Kahlua and Baileys. Very adult, very good and all milkshake.

The Public House has a large selection of beers and if you don’t find it on tap, you are likely to find a can of something amazing! On tap you are going to find Hoppy Times IPA, Tenaya Creek Brown Ale, a couple of handles from Joseph James and the “Happy Tap”, which is a rotating micro-brew draft allowing you to look forward to something new and unique when you come into Public House.
